![]() ![]() Our location is superb to use as a base camp for numerous attractions as a centralized location to have many adventures. Additional day trips to Alamogordo, Capitan (Smokey the Bear), Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Lincoln (Billy the Kid), Ruidoso (skiing), Sunspot (National Solar Observatory, Truth or Consequences (Hot Springs) and White Sands National Monument! Guests enjoy our upgraded free wifi to have the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful nature, while still being able to connect with family/friends/work. These towns have scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumberjack days. The small towns around us are Mayhill, Cloudcroft, Weed, and Pinion. Small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens and outdoor activities are available to Camp Rio guests. The forest is laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, golf, and walking trails. The corner of this camp has it's own path to the creek and you'll find some blackberry brambles along the way!We have firewood available for purchase.Water is available from the Campground Well. We have paths and trails that lead along the creek to explore. A bathroom is available at the neighboring campground. A bathroom you can rent (with a shower) is just up the path at the Kingston Clay Company Coffee Shop.Ĭamp Rio, formerly named Camp Cloudcroft is located in beautiful SE New Mexico! The park is surrounded by thousands of acres of the Lincoln National Forest. It's nestled up to some Black Walnut and Trees of Heaven. It's surrounded by Black Walnut Trees, Junipers, and Trees of Heaven. Hawk Camp - This is the smallest of our sites, but it's nuzzled up in a nook of Trees of Heaven and is closest to the Sacred Meditation space with a nice trail that goes right over to it! Eagle Camp - This is the most secluded site we have, which is set on soft fluffy grass. Gaze up at the beautiful stars while sitting at your campfire. Quail Camp - This spot is a nice smooth grassy area which is the largest of our sites. Come see our work in progress! Some of the fun and unusual attractions we have available are panning for gold, petting the goats Ben & Jerry, and taking a tour of the minimally populated (20 residents) ghost town of Kingston, NM. You can even take a picture by the Tipi, the Wagon Wheel Dream Catcher, or sitting on the 420 Tractor! Imagine setting your tent while listening to the creek just a few steps down the path. Trails meander through the park and onsite rangers have scheduled activities including night sky programs.Surrounded by Gila National Forest, and next, the historic ghost town, Kingston.Learn more about this land:We offer camping as a part of our expanding vision to offer herb classes, herb walks, nature spirit tours, and healing services. Leasburg Dam State Park is located along the Rio Grande allowing for water activities like kayaking, canoeing and fishing. There is a nearby train track that is active. During the summer it can get exceedingly warm. Las Cruces is best enjoyed during shoulder seasons of fall and spring. Plenty of hiking trails in the area and close proximity to Las Cruces make this a good choice on a budget the nightly rate is very reasonable. The sites have cement parking pads, picnic tables, fire rings and shade covers over the picnic tables. ![]() Large camping sites with plenty of pull thrus. Leasburg Dam State Park Campground in Radium Springs New Mexico offers partial hookup (water/ electric) RV and tent camping adjacent to the Rio Grande north of Las Cruces. ![]()
